Our Building Project

Kingston Evangelical Church has been maintaining a gospel witness for the last 56 years.

We are an independant evangelical church made up of people of different ages, nationalilties and backgrounds but united in the belief that Jesus Christ is the only answer to man's need.

We meet each week for worship, prayer and to listen to the faithful preaching of God's word.

Church History

In February 1969, 25 people met in Alison Hall, Hedon, and Kingston Reformed Church was born.

Initially the congregation used a school in the centre of Hull for its services, their first pastor being Terence Aldridge, then it shared and eventually had full use of a Brethren Assembly owned hall in Park Grove, Hull.

The building was small, having only a main sanctuary, small vestry and toilets.

Under the second pastorate, an extension was built to include a fellowship room and kitchen.

Under the leadership of its third pastor, Paul Cook, the church changed its name to Kingston Evangelical Church, to avoid confusion with the United Reformed Church.

Under the church's last pastor, Dennis Hill who retired recently, it was decided to extend the current building to allow for renovation, renewal and greater visibility in the street where it is located.

Building Plans

Planning permission has been granted and the extension will have a larger santuary, a creche, new toilet block, a vestry, increased storage and possibly a larger kitchen and baptistry, if funds allow (please refer to plan).

The carpark will also be levelled and resurfaced.

The structural design drawings are completed. We engaged an architect who has provided a design review, foundation design, digital drawings etc.

Builders have been appointed and the work to the building is well underway with the creation of the new walls and roof complete at the rear of the church. Walls at the front are coming along with roof nearly ready to follow.

We ask that you pray for the Lord's guidance and provision. The current estimated cost is in the region of £410,000. We are now refining this estimate.
